Sedation

Sedation for Nervous Patients at 78MPR

At 78MPR, Tunbridge Wells, we understand that dental visits can cause anxiety for many adults. A past negative experience, dental phobia, or general nervousness can make treatment feel overwhelming. We offer tailored sedation options to help you feel comfortable during your visit.

Sedation Care with Dr Farid Monibi

Dr Farid Monibi, our specialist dentist, provides safe and effective sedation techniques. His expertise ensures a comfortable and stress-free dental experience and can complete necessary treatments while you stay relaxed and at ease.

IV Sedation

Deeper Relaxation for Complex Procedures

Intravenous (IV) sedation is ideal for nervous patients with moderate to severe dental anxiety or those undergoing longer or more complex procedures. Administered through a small cannula in the hand or arm, IV sedation induces a deeply relaxed state while allowing you to remain conscious and responsive. Many patients experience a dream-like sensation and have little to no memory of the procedure. You will be closely monitored throughout by our dental and nursing team, to ensure your safety and comfort.

Inhalation Sedation

Gentle and Effective for Mild Anxiety

Also known as ‘happy gas’ or ‘laughing gas’, this option provides a gentle, calming effect, suitable for patients with mild dental anxiety. A mixture of oxygen and nitrous oxide is inhaled through a small mask, helping you feel relaxed without putting you to sleep. Whilst the effects wear off quickly after treatment, we recommend recovering at home with plenty of rest.
