Terms & Conditions

78MPR is committed to delivering an excellent service where you are guaranteed the highest level of care. To assist us in providing this service, our practice Terms and Conditions are outlined below. Should you have any questions about any aspect of these terms, please do not hesitate to ask for further clarification.

78MPR does not have a contract with an NHS Primary Care Trust and all treatments are provided on a private basis only.

Review of Fees

78MPR reviews its fee list annually to ensure that our pricing remains fair, transparent, and reflective of the high standard of care we provide. Any updates to our fees will be published on our website and available at reception. Fee changes will not affect treatments already in progress for which a written estimate has been provided and accepted, unless clinical findings require the treatment plan to be amended.

Treatment Estimates

All treatment estimates are provided verbally during your appointment with the dentist or by telephone. Written estimates are also provided within your treatment report following your initial consultation.

Please note that all estimates are approximate. The final fee may be higher or lower than the estimate depending on clinical or radiographic findings that emerge during treatment. Patients are kept informed regarding costs throughout their treatment. All estimates are valid for up to 6 months.

If you agree to a proposed treatment plan, we reserve the right to request 50% of the treatment fee in advance before treatment begins. Once treatment is completed, the remaining balance should be settled at your final appointment.

Consultation Fees

For new patients, the fee for an initial consultation must be settled in advance to secure the appointment. Outside of initial consultations, we do not operate a credit account system and require fees to be settled at the appointment where treatment is provided.

If you fail to attend your initial consultation without providing at least 48 hours’ notice, the consultation fee is non-refundable.

Hygiene Fees

For new (direct-access) hygiene patients who are not under the care of one of our in-house dentists, the fee for the hygiene appointment must be settled in advance. If you fail to attend without providing 48 hours’ notice, the fee is non-refundable.

For active patients, hygiene fees are settled at the appointment. If you do not provide 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule, you will incur a £100 cancellation fee.

Consent Forms

All treatments require completion of a consent form. We will explain the treatment, aftercare, and any risks thoroughly and ask you to sign the form before treatment is carried out.

Emergency Appointments

We do not operate a round-the-clock service. If you require urgent care outside practice hours, please call 01892 571780 and leave a voicemail with details. Voicemails are monitored closely and a member of the team will contact you as soon as possible to arrange an urgent appointment.

Personal Details

It is essential that you provide a full and accurate medical history, including medication and allergies, at your first visit. You must inform us of any changes to your medical status during the course of your treatment.

General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

We store all patient personal details on a secure management system in accordance with the Data Protection Act and GDPR. All clinical notes, digital X-rays, photographs, and related records remain the property of 78MPR. Copies can be provided on request.

Information provided via our website, by phone, or in conversation with non-clinical staff does not constitute professional advice. Clinical advice can only be given following a consultation with a dentist.

Photography & X-Rays

78MPR may use clinical images, video and X-rays for marketing and educational purposes, including on the practice website and promotional literature. We will always request your consent before using any images. Your name and identity will never be disclosed. If you do not wish your images to be used, please inform us.

Late Cancellation or Missed Appointments

Please give as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or amend an appointment. We require a minimum of 48 hours’ notice.

Appointments cancelled without 48 hours’ notice may incur a cancellation fee of £100 or more, depending on the allocated appointment time. For treatment appointments of 2 hours or longer, failure to attend may result in a charge of 50% of the treatment fee.

For new patients seeing a specialist dentist, failure to attend or provide 48 hours’ notice will result in your deposit being non-refundable.

If two or more consecutive appointments are cancelled without notice, or are failed without good reason, the practice reserves the right to refuse further appointments.

Zero-Tolerance / Abuse Policy

78MPR operates a zero-tolerance policy regarding abuse towards our dentists or staff, loud or disorderly behaviour, drunkenness, and persistent missed or late-cancelled appointments. In such cases, we reserve the right to refuse treatment and admission to the practice.

Infection Control Annual Statement

In line with the Health and Social Care Act 2008, Code of Practice on the prevention and control of infections, our annual infection control statement will be published here annually.
